Shadeshares sunglasses are sustainable, high quality, eco-friendly wooden sunglasses made from certified Finnish birch veneer. The sunglasses are polarized and UV-protected.

Shadeshares’s mission is to provide responsibly manufactured eco-luxury sunglasses. Sunglasses are handcrafted from high quality, environmentally sustainable materials at the company’s own workshop in Nairobi, Kenya. The company trains and employs young adults from the slums of Kariobangi and Korogocho. The company also constantly makes sure that their employees have proper working conditions.

Shadehares is a zero-carbon footprint company. For every purchased pair of sunglasses, Sahdeshares plants a tree on their land in Kenya.

Shadeshares originates from a long-time vision by a Finnish technology entrepreneur Jan-Erik Westergård. Things started to move when Jan-Erik found a group of like-minded people who believed in his vision and wanted to do business a little differently. The idea concretised to Kenya, where Shadeshares began to manufacture wooden sunglasses at their own workshop together with the young adults from Kariobangi and Korogocho slums and plant trees in Oyugis, Kenya.

By purchasing the Shadeshares sunglasses you'll be participating also in Tavastian metsä fundraising, protecting primeval forests via Tavastia Hall of Nature.

The other handle of the sunglasses features the Tavastia Club logo.
The sunglasses come with a handy case.
